Stripe is a secure online payment gateway available in Eventixa Pro that enables attendees to purchase event tickets using supported payment methods. When Stripe is enabled, customers can complete their payment directly during checkout, and Eventixa automatically creates the booking, records the payment, and sends the appropriate email notifications.
Stripe integrates seamlessly with the Eventixa booking system, ensuring payment information and booking statuses remain synchronized throughout the registration process.
Available in: Eventixa Pro
Before You Begin
Before accepting payments with Stripe, ensure that:
- Eventixa Pro is installed and activated.
- Stripe is enabled as a payment method.
- Your Stripe API credentials have been configured.
- At least one paid ticket has been created for your event.
Configuring Stripe
To configure Stripe:
- Navigate to Eventixa → Settings → Payments → Stripe.
- Enable the Stripe payment gateway.
- Enter your Stripe API credentials.
- Save your settings.
Once configured, Stripe becomes available during checkout for paid events.
Stripe Settings
The Stripe payment settings allow you to configure how the gateway behaves during checkout.
Typical settings include:
- Enable or Disable Stripe
- Payment Title
- Payment Description
- Publishable Key
- Secret Key
- Test Mode
- Webhook Secret (if configured)
These settings control how Stripe is presented to customers and how Eventixa communicates with your Stripe account.
Test Mode
Stripe supports a dedicated Test Mode for verifying your payment configuration without processing real transactions.
When Test Mode is enabled:
- Customers can complete simulated payments using Stripe’s test credentials.
- No real charges are processed.
- Bookings are created using Stripe’s test environment.
It is recommended to perform several test bookings before switching your site to live payments.
Customer Checkout Experience
When Stripe is enabled, attendees purchasing paid tickets can select Stripe during checkout.
The checkout process follows this workflow:
Select Ticket

│

Choose Stripe
│

Complete Secure Payment
│
▼
Booking Created
│

Confirmation Emails Sent
The payment process takes place securely through Stripe.
Successful Payments
After Stripe successfully processes a payment, Eventixa automatically:
- Creates the booking.
- Marks the booking as Completed.
- Updates the payment status to Paid.
- Registers the attendee.
- Reduces available ticket inventory.
- Sends booking and payment confirmation emails.
No manual action is required.
Failed Payments
If Stripe cannot complete the payment:
- The booking is not completed.
- Payment is not marked as successful.
- The attendee is not fully registered until payment is successfully completed.
Customers can retry the payment if necessary.
Payment Information
For Stripe payments, the Booking Details page displays payment information associated with the booking.
Depending on the transaction, this may include:
- Payment Method
- Payment Status
- Transaction ID (when available)
- Booking Total
This information is available directly from the booking record.
Payment Status
Stripe payments automatically update the payment status within Eventixa.
Common payment statuses include:
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Pending | Payment has not yet been completed. |
| Processing | Stripe is processing the payment. |
| Paid | Payment completed successfully. |
| Failed | Payment could not be processed. |
| Refunded | Booking has been marked as refunded. |
Payment statuses are synchronized automatically and should not be edited manually for Stripe transactions.
Booking Synchronization
Stripe payments are fully integrated with Eventixa’s booking system.
When a payment succeeds:
Stripe Payment Successful
│
▼
Payment Status → Paid
│
▼
Booking Status → Completed
│

Attendee Registered
│

Confirmation Emails Sent
This automatic synchronization ensures bookings and payments remain consistent.
Refunds
If a booking needs to be refunded:
- Process the refund through your Stripe Dashboard.
- Update the booking status in Eventixa if required.
Important: Eventixa does not initiate refunds through the Stripe API. Changing a booking to Refunded updates the booking record and related statuses within Eventixa but does not send a refund request to Stripe.
Viewing Stripe Payments
All Stripe transactions associated with bookings can be reviewed from:
- Tickets → Bookings
- Booking Details
These pages display the payment method, payment status, and booking information associated with each Stripe payment.
Best Practices
- Use Stripe Test Mode to verify your payment configuration before accepting live payments.
- Confirm that your API credentials are correct before enabling Stripe for customers.
- Create a paid ticket and complete a test purchase to verify the entire booking workflow.
- Regularly monitor completed and failed payments from the Bookings screen.
- Process refunds through the Stripe Dashboard before updating the booking status in Eventixa.
Tips
- Stripe provides a secure checkout experience for paid event registrations.
- Successful Stripe payments automatically create completed bookings and register attendees without additional administrator action.
- Payment information is stored with the booking, allowing organizers to review transaction details from the Booking Details page.
- Stripe integrates with Eventixa’s email notification system, ensuring attendees automatically receive booking and payment confirmation emails after a successful transaction.
